Lazy Saturday, sitting here on the couch watching a Chicago Cubs game knitting on Markus’ Terminator socks. I tried once to do the “2-at-a-time” socks on 1 long circular needle but it never really stuck with me. My method is to knit each sock concurrently on separate needles (since I own 2 sets of size 1 US circs). Once the 2nd leg reaches the same length as the 1st, the plan is to work short row heels. Spice things up a bit. 😉
A long time ago designed a beret and mittens set for a yarn company and recently found out it had been published. It’s called Berry and Vine hat and mittens and uses 100% merino wool at a gauge of 16 st and 24 rows = 4″ St st. The stitch pattern is an adaptation from a Japanese stitch dictionary. Don’t let the bobbles scare you, they’re quite small and harmless. They grow out from the ribbing into the central panel which I think looks kinda cool. The only place I know of that sells the pattern is Patternfish, should the beret and mittens strike your fancy.

I’m really tempted to make myself another set since I had to give up the sample. I would use a different yarn and color since hot pink doesn’t match my red winter coat.
Well that’s it from me. Hope everyone else is having a nice Saturday as well!
