Today is world wide knit in public day (WWKIP). I knit in public almost every day (waiting for the bus, sitting on the bus, sitting in coffee shops, etc.) but today was exceptional because Diane and the Three Rivers Crochet group organized a big event at Schenley Plaza. About 15 fiber enthusiasts showed up with their projects. The rain held off which was perfect since we weren’t able to sit under the tent this year. A wedding party wearing lots of royal blue booked the space. Is royal blue this season’s “it” color? Anyway, we pulled up some tables and parked ourselves near the concession stands.
I kept a eye out for the family of peregrine falcons who are nesting atop the Cathedral of Learning, but sadly they were a no-show.
It was great to reconnect with people from the crochet group who I don’t see very often. I also met some nice new people who I coaxed into coming to my Wednesday night knitting group. Mwahahahahaaaaa!
I even made progress on Markus’ sock. FYI, madelinetosh tosh sock yarn, colorway “mare”, easy-peasy k2, p1 rib.
There was a yarn raffle. Check out the prize table.
And I may have came home with a lovely skein of fingering weight linen/merino yarn. What should I make with it?
A big thanks to Diane and the crochet group for organizing a great event! Can’t wait for next year!
