Today Cheryl and I went to a “yarn tasting” event, sponsored by the Pgh knit and crochet festival. The event was fun, however I definitely ate too many sweets. I hadn’t eaten lunch before I left and, ummm, there was a chocolate fountain. A magical chocolate fountain… Need I say more?
Here’s Cheryl in her lovely Orange Pop sweater, demonstrating the Portuguese knitting style.
I was tempted by yarns from Louet and Blue Heron, especially Blue Heron’s silk/merino lace weight in the colorway Paprika. None of the stores at the event had any in stock, unfortunately, so I bought some Louet yarn from Kathy’s Kreations instead. Seriously, do I need anymore yarn? That is a rhetorical question.
It’s Eastport Heathered Collection from Louet, 70% alpaca and 30% merino in a DK weight. The colorway is Red Sunrise, which is sort of a peachy-pinky-brown. The great-and-powerful Ravelry will tell me what to make with it.
And next on the agenda for this weekend, I get to organize the craft/tv room yet again to accommodate all my new sewing supplies. I cleaned my new sewing machine this morning and it needs to find a permanent home on the table which is currently buried under yarn. It is impossible. But I, Susan, will do it. Best. Movie. Ever.
