Yesterday a friend and I went to the sidewalk sales in Oakmont. We heard the yarn shop would be having a sale and we couldn’t resist that. And as many of you know, sock yarn has a tendency to jump onto the checkout counter all by itself. So I ended up bringing home some lovely Happy Feet sock yarn in colorway #3. If #3 isn’t descriptive enough for you, here’s a photo.
The color is a lovely light brown with subtle hints of light purple. The only thing I’m not terribly fond of is the yardage; 192 yds/ 50g per skein, but I’ll survive. 😉
More SYSE: My friend got me some Skinny Bugga! in colorway Blue Stink Bug just because she saw it and thought of me. Thanks Cheryl! Now this is yardage I love; 1 giant 450 yd skein. Sweet! (said Napoleon Dynamite style, of course.)
I’ve also decided I need to knit the Hawthorn Pullover by Kathy Zimmerman from the latest Interweave Knits (Fall 2010). There’s something about this sweater that calls to me- maybe it’s the cables, or the color of the yarn, or the boatneck style neckline. Whatever it is, I’m smitten. I’m on the hunt now for some appropriate yarn for this sweater. And no, I haven’t forgotten about Sabbatical.
