Last week I started a new pair of socks for Markus. They are the Skyp Rib Socks by Adrienne Ku, and I love love love these socks! I took this picture a few days ago, and I’m at the heel flap now.
The pattern is written for women’s small, but I added 12 extra stitches to make it wider. The pattern is well written and the skyp stitch is easy to memorize. The yarn is Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Select in the colorway River Run, and it’s by far the softest, squishiest sock yarn I’ve knit with to date. I bought this yarn at the Sheep and Wool festival and I just knew it would make great socks for Markus. BTW, my wacky camera doesn’t capture purple. So, surprise! a lot of the blue you see is really purple.
Every day on the way home from work I predictably turn to Markus and say “I wonder if anyone sent me yarn today?” And guess what, Leute? Today someone did send me yarn! This someone is Wendee from Hazel Knits. I ran out of yarn in the home stretch of a new (and hopefully forthcoming) design. Not only did Wendee send me the skein I ordered, but she sent along another quarter skein in the hopes that one of the two skeins will match the colorway I’d been using previously. Talk about great service! And needless to say, the yarn is truly stunning. Heck, all of her colorways are gorgeous. I love coming home to find yarn at my doorstep. 🙂
