For those of you just joining me, I’ve decided to showcase some of the things my knitting group created from the sock blanks we dyed this past July. Before we had the party, I went online searching for “before and after” pictures of dyed sock blanks to give me some ideas. I didn’t find too many, actually. Maybe I was just looking in the wrong place. In any case, I thought it would be nice to show what my group did. Hopefully it will inspire you to have your own sock blank party!
Beth is so sneaky; she knit her socks using the Fibonacci sequence. “The Fibo what?” you may ask. “Let me ‘splain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.” The first number in the sequence is 0, the second number is 1, and each following number equals the sum of the previous two numbers in the sequence. So the sequence (or pattern) for her socks is as follows: K1 round, p1 round, k2 rounds, p3 rounds, k5 rounds, p8 rounds, etc. How very clever indeed!
Oh, and props to the person who can tell me what movie I quoted above. 🙂
