Last night I was finally able to use Charlotte, my PVC pipe swift. She’s been sitting in the corner of the living room for a few weeks now because she was missing the all important spacer. Well, yesterday Lisa and I went to the Waterfront and I got a spacer at Lowe’s (and some new shoes, but not at Lowe’s). The guy who helped me find it was very confused when I told him what it was for. He initially thought I needed it for pouring concrete or some other crazy project (as if building a swift out of PVC pipe isn’t crazy enough!)
Yesterday I also received the yarn from Reynolds to knit up my design. My damp swatch is currently pinned to a cardboard box here at my office! Yes, I’m crazy. The swatch had to be blocked before this afternoon so I could take accurate measurements to work from. I didn’t have it blocked before I left home this morning, so blocking at the office will have to do…
Oh, and my brand new shoes are sketchers, BTW. They are currently soaking wet, along with my jeans. The instant I left my office to meet DH for lunch, it started raining cats and dogs and apparently elephants and zebras, too. I had to stop by the gym after lunch to get some dry jogging pants from my locker. I hate wet jeans.
And finally, some eye candy for you. This is Lisa’s (Knitsburgh) knitted Shrimpy (named and modeled after her real life cat). I’m putting this picture up here because first of all, he’s durned cute, and second, maybe it will prompt Lisa to write up the design so we can all make one!
