Because I knew you were all dying to see a picture of the curtain I shortened. 🙂
I must say upfront that I take no credit for sewing the actual curtains. My mom made them for my bedroom back in high school. Ack, I just realized how old these curtains are! I had a yellow theme going on back then. Yellow lamp, pillows, etc… Anyway, it was pretty easy shortening the curtain. For some reason my sewing machine worked like magic that day. Then I tried sewing something else just a few days ago. Disaster. I think it was the thread I used. It was pretty cheap stuff, and it kept getting caught underneath. Oh well, can’t win them all.
And now back to the subject of short row heels. They are, to me, the most magical thing in knitting. You’re knitting along, back and forth, wrapping and turning, when suddenly, out pops a heel. Just like that. I seriously wish everything I knit needed a short row heel. Although, I’m not sure how Markus’ sweater would look with a heel sticking out of the side, but it would sure be fun to knit. I’m currently working on heel #2 for the Jaywalker. Hey, maybe I’ll do short row toes on each sock, too! Ooooh, can’t wait to get to the toe! I
bet hope I can finish these socks this weekend. I’ll bring them to the Stitch ‘N Pitch game. Pirates vs. Cardinals. Last year it was Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs. Pirates won. BOO HOO! When will the poor Cubbies ever catch a break?
And thanks to everyone who commented on my previous post!
