Sorry, no pictures in this post.
So my whole life this past week has been Knitty-focused. My brain is stuck on this pattern, formatting it to Knitty standards, photographing it, submitting it, and all that. And I read a post the other day on Ravelry that someone’s pattern has already been ACCEPTED! Yikes, the deadline isn’t even until June 2! I better get this thing sent ASAP in order for it to even considered. Photos, schematic, headshot are all done. Last night I asked Markus to proof read my pattern and he went way above the call of duty for a non-knitting husband. He found some potentially confusing bits. I think it’s wonderful to have knitters read over patterns for you, but the non-knitting husband (who claims to be a “theoretical knitter”) will catch stuff knitters might not. I don’t mean just grammar or typos. I mean things that a seasoned knitter might take for granted that a newbie would just know. Anyway, I reworked a bunch of the pattern last night and I think it finally looks good. I mean, it looked good to me all along, but hey, I’m the designer and the instructions are crystal clear to me…
I’m also trying my hand at some lace patterns from the Barbara Walker books. I bought some random balls of yarn at one of the local yarn stores during their inventory sale to try some swatches. BTW, the name of the shop will remain nameless due to the fact that I’m not ever planning to frequent their store again. Even if they were the only ones with the yarn or needles I need for a project. I’d pay someone to go and get it for me. I’ll stick with Natural Stitches on Penn Ave.
That’s it. Tonight is Stitch ‘N Bitch at the Coffee Tree. I wonder if any of the new people who said they will stop by will actually come?
