these pretzels are making me thirsty!

June 3, 2012 by handknitsbysusan

Pattern: Brezel Socken (my own design for the month of May)
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock medium weight in the colorway Saffron Jungle (100% superwash merino wool)
Needles: US 1.5 – (2.5mm)
Rating: sort of meh :|

So as it turns out, I’m not really a fan of knitting socks in medium weight sock yarn. I prefer a finer gauge for my socks. There are some design elements I would change if ever I decide to knit these socks again, like the transition from the cuff ribbing into the pretzel cable, the toe shaping, etc. Oh well, at least they are comfy!

Now on to my brown June socks…

I think the socks look great. Maybe they will make good house socks next winter with the heavier weight? I’m planning to use my skein of STR med (http://www.ravelry.com/people/sjn821/stash/socks-that-rock-mediumweight) to knit a BSJ at some point.
