So you’re walking down the sidewalk and spot a penny lying next to the curb. You debate about picking it up for half a second, only to walk on past without stopping because hey, it’s only a penny? Last year about this time I read this blog post and decided to conduct a little experiment of my own. What if I stop to pick up every coin I see lying in the gutter, on the floor, in the bus, etc…? How much money will I collect in exactly one year? Here’s the tally ::drumroll please::

A whopping $5.04 (US dollars), 10¢ (Canadian), and 11¢ (Euros). That ain’t half bad for basically no effort on my part. With that $5 I can buy 3 short coffees from Starbucks, my favorite drink. Excellent!

I’ve started working on a shawl with the Zauberball I bought at the Schoppel Wolle store in Germany. This yarn is truly the most bright and vivid¹ stuff I ever worked with. My knitting group is trying to convince me that yes, I can definitely wear a rainbow striped shawl and no, it won’t look like clown threw up on me. We’ll just see about that…
