This morning I logged on to Ravelry and saw that there are 10 Sidewinder projects! Whoo-hoo! And the finished ones all look so good! Check out this finished skirt by Katya. The blog is in Turkish, so I just look at the pretty pictures!
If you’re thinking of starting the Sidewinder, be aware that it’s a big project knit all in stockinette stitch. I’m not trying to dissuade anyone from knitting it, of course. It’s just something to keep in mind when making your decision. It’s a great project to knit while watching tv, riding the bus, or reading. Also take a peek at all the fabulous Sidewinder projects in Ravelry for inspiration on color and yarn choices. Someone used Noro yarn. Wow, stunning!
What else… I’m working on designs to submit to Knitty and Knitcircus, both of which are due Dec. 1st, I believe. The Knitty item has been dragging on for a while. It’s now too big to warrant bringing it to Wednesday night SnB, so it stays home, waiting ever so patiently for me to work another row.
Here’s a tiny portion of a swatch I’ve been working on for my Knitcircus project. I think I’ll go to Natural Stitches today and get different yarn to use for the actual project. I’ve been knitting with wool-ease for the test swatch and the cable doesn’t show up as well as expected.
And today some friends and I are going to the Handmade Arcade craft fair, hopefully to get some handmade goodies for Christmas presents. 2 years ago I participated in the Handmade Arcade when I was selling my handknits, but realized that I actually lost money doing the show. I only sold one item which didn’t come close to covering the cost of the booth!
Wow – those FOs are wonderful! It must feel so satifying to see what people knit with your own design. I’ve been favorited by a lot, and there’s one FO (I saw it at my knitting shop) – I can’t wait to actually see something like you have. Congrats!
Looking forward to seeing your pattern! I’m definitely intrigued….

I love Brella’s Noro sidewinder. It looks like the stripes really cooperated with the pattern. So neat to see the different takes on the skirt.
That noro one is lovely!
hey! I have a question… how do you go about submitting patterns to knitty? i’ve thought it would be cool to do that, and i’ve tried to do it, but i have no clue how… comment back on my wordpress blog to let me know. 🙂
… i’m thinking about knitting the sidewinder, too. it looks fun. 😀
