Oh we like sheep!

The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival was great! And I ended up not blowing my entire savings on yarn. Yay me!
And, drum roll, we met Jess, Casey and Mary-Heather! That was soooo exciting! When they arrived at the Rabbit venue on Saturday morning, they were greeted like rock stars. It was a mob. But really exciting!

and saw the winning bags of fleece in the main exhibition hall.

Lisa made a new friend. And when I say new, I mean 12 hours old new! Someone brought her baby emus to the show.

The sheep dog show was amazing. These border collies really know their stuff.
And if you’re the woman I stalked at the book booth, sorry. 5 second rule. You put the knitting book down for MORE THAN 5 seconds, so I call it fair game. Now I have 2 nice new knitting books:
The knitters guide to sweater design / by Michelson and Davis
Sweater design in plain English / by Maggie Righetti
The ravelry party was a blast! I got my tote bag (yes, I can stop buying tote bags any time I want, and no, it’s not an addiction) and met some really nice Ravelers, one of which won a beautiful designer knitting bag/needle case. I think it was so sweet of Jess and Casey to arrange such a nice party! Thank you!!!!!!!
Sunday we went back to the festival and I finally bought some yarn. It came on a cone. Somehow I feel more like a real knitter if my yarn is on a cone. Anyway, it’s gorgeous cotton Dragon Tale Yarn. I have no idea what to knit with it, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
I’d love to go back next year, this time with a project in mind so I can get some great yarn!
