Welcome to my blog! I decided it was time to move into the 21st century and become a blogger. This blog will only be about knitting (and other crafty stuff), so no crap about my life, etc.
My friend Lisa and I are taking a sewing class at the community college, and here is a photo of my recent project, still in progress as you can see by me holding up the pants. It still needs waistband elastic and desperately needs to be hemmed. That I’ll learn next week. The sewing machines we’re using are a dream- $1000 Baby Lock sewing machines with about 50 different stitches and a button hole maker. Wow, a button hole maker! My old 1974 Singer machine has 3 stitches with no button hole maker (or at least I don’t think it has one. The machine didn’t come with instructions. Took me months to even figure out where the reverse button was…)
Also, my knitting is as obsessive as ever. I can’t post what I’m currently working on because I’m hoping to submit it to Knitty by the June deadline, and they seem to have strict rules about that. So all I can tell you is that I’m using this beautiful Louet Gem yarn in Grape. 100% sport weight merino wool, 100% expensive, but that is for another post.
And finally, I will be participating in the 1st Pittsburgh Etsy Trunk Show on Saturday, April 26th, noon-5pm at the Creative TreeHouse, 517 Lincoln Ave. 2nd Floor, Bellevue, PA 15202.
If you’re in or around the Pittsburgh area, please stop by! I’ll be selling original knitting patterns, yoga mat bags, baby clothes and other handknits.
